Susumu Eguchi, M.D. Ph.D.is a Professor and Chairman of Department of Surgery, Nagasaki University Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Hospital since 2012. He graduated from Nagasaki University in 1992 and developed his surgical skills and career in the satellite hospitals in Nagasaki. He also developed his academic career in Cedars-sinai Medical Center in Los angeles, USA as a research fellow in Surgical Research Lab.
Prof. Susumu Eguchi’s specialty and interests include liver transplantation, liver surgery and HPB surgery, which was also developed in University Medical Center Groningen, the Netheralands as s clinical fellow during 2003-2005. He has app. 4,000 cases career with HPB and GI general surgery, especially living donor (LD) liver transplantation and LD surgery. Additionally, he has huge laparoscopic surgery experience in GI and HPB fields, from which he published many mile stone papers including hybrid LD surgery and Lap pancreas resection.
His academic interests include liver regeneration, hepatocyte-based therapy, regenerative medicine now a days. He trained many surgical residents and fellows in Japan as well as foreign fellows from all over the world. He has instructed to establish LDLT program in Kazakhstan as he was awarded form ministry of health in 2012.
