Xiao Xu, MD, PhD, Professor, Attending surgeon and Doctoral supervisor. Currently he is the President of Affiliated Hangzhou First People’s Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine. Professor Xu is the Yangtze River Scholar Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Education, winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, winner of Ten Thousand Talent Program and Qiushi Distinguished Professor of Zhejiang University. Besides, he has won the Young Scientist Award for Chinese Oncology, Youth Medical Award of Wu Mengchao Medical Science Foundation, and was honored with the title of 4th National Reputed Doctor. For his outstanding work, he was elected as the President-elect of Chinese Society of Organ Transplantation, the vice President the Head of Liver Transplantation Program, Deputy Chair and Director-General of Chinese College of Transplant’s Doctors, Fellow of American College of Surgeons.
Professor Xu has served as a transplant and HBP surgeon for more than 20 years in the Department of Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Surgery. As the Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Integrated Oncology and Intelligent Medicine, his main research interest focusing on transplant oncology and precision diagnosis and treatment for hepato-pancreato-biliary malignancies. Professor Xu has hosted multiple scientific research programs, which funded by National High-tech R&D Program of China (863 Program), National Science and Technology Major Project of China, Key Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, etc. He has published over 100 papers in SCI journals such as Gut and Journal of Hepatology. As the editor or translator in chief, he has compiled many National Planned Teaching Materials such as Organ Transplantation, Surgery and Introduction to Clinical Medicine. As the first contributor, he was awarded the First Prize of Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (2020) and the Second Prize of Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award (2020). And as one of the major contributors, he has received several prizes including the National Innovative Team Prize (2015), the First Prize and Second Prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress Awards in 2013 and 2008.
