Naoaki Sakata, MD, PhD is a transplant surgeon and researcher belonging to the Department of Regenerative Medicine and Transplantation at Fukuoka University, Japan. He graduated from Tohoku University in 1997 (BM) and 2004 (PhD). His specialties are in cellular and tissue transplantation and regenerative medicine, especially in pancreatic islet transplantation, stem cell transplantation, porcine xenotransplantation, and stem cell biology.
